The Second God Zilla – Okamoto HydroCorp

Sasuke Okamoto is a typical millennial born in the 4th decade of the 2nd millennium. While his friends spent most of their time watching videos on the web and making short videos in an attempt to be successful, Sasuke only had one addiction: Jaspion. The last century 80s series was a source of inspiration and joy to the young Okamoto.

Sasuke was a young dreamer with lots of learning disabilities due to his lack of attention. The high density of information he received from all these old series had turned him into a very imaginative kid with out of reality ideas, which sort of got in the way of his growth, mainly in relation to his dad Shino Okamoto.

Shino Okamoto was not the richest man in Japan, but he was renowned by all the companies he ran. During his life Shino did not settle to leave all his money and power in one place but grew to be the owner of department shops, food industry shops and supermarket chains. Being as traditionalist as he was, Shino would  most definitely encourage his only son to follow his path.

Despite having his own dreams and goals Sasuke had always been a guy who respected tradition and family. He even got ready to take on his father’s business, against his will, when the right time came. But that day came sooner than expected when his dad died from a stomach ulcer. Despite all the technology available in the health care system Shino would always say that “men should be ready to die when the right time comes” and, just like that, he left this world without even trying to avoid death’s hug.

Sasuke took on the businesses of his father, still unaware of how to proceed. With the help of his most reliable childhood friend Matsuko Shimada – graduated in Business Administration – he was able to do so. Together, they mapped out Sasuke’s whole personal heritage and were able to put all businesses back on track.

As years went by, Sasuke managed to understand and run businesses well. The truth was, with everything in its right place, businesses started to run smoothly on their own. Sasuke just needed to keep track of things here and there and check if employees were working correctly, but in the long run, he had more time for himself and more time to be home. After all, it was time he started thinking about his own family.

Life was good. Money kept coming in like plants popping up from the ground. Growing up to be a man, Sasuke started worrying about his looks, letting his hair grow and keeping it naturally disheveled, which gave him a rough unruly look. He looked like his father: dark-like-the-night half-opened eyes, a family genetic trait. When he looked in the mirror, he liked what he saw and who he had become. What he liked the most was the fact that he had a different facial expression ready to be put in use for each person he crossed paths with. From a pale frowned face he gave to his employees to a wide-open teeth-showing smile, only given to a few human beings who walked upon earth.

Over the years Sasuke met Kioko Higuchi and married quickly. Family was well, healthy, and happy until Tora Sentai – the Tiger Squad’s arrival.

Tora Sentai arrived in Japan and turned the whole country upside-down. It was a massive blow for the Government. Five 165 feet tall robot tigers were thrown from the air into the middle of the Japanese capital and, in less than a day, had destroyed all Government buildings and killed the emperor and parliament. When the city woke up the next day, news was all over announcing the birth of a new era for Japan.

People, like Sasuke, remained anxious for days until they could understand how it would impact business. The first weeks started with conflict and wars in the streets, but it didn’t take long until the army was retrieved and rebel civilians were arrested. The technology level of Tora Sentai was a dozen times more advanced than the Japanese army. The conflict had just finished when Sasuke Okamoto got paid his first visit from the scam group rep.

Sasuke was chilled, sitting in his living room at the top of the skyscraper company headquarters. He could see the smoke from the recent conflicts through the window and he knew the one responsible for all of that was waiting for him just outside that door. Sasuke gave the sign so Matsuko could announce Renjiro Inada’s entrance, Tora Sentai spokesman’s entrance. Sasuke had saved his never made coldest conniving face to that day.

“Okamoto Sasuke,” said the man who came through the door, “We meet, at last”.

Both exchanged greetings in the classical Japanese way.

“Inada Renjiro,” Sasuke replied. “It is a pleasure to have you in my office”.

They both sat down as Sasuke waited for the man, who would now share how things would go from then on with the new government. It took Renjiro a while to talk, perhaps even deliberately so, only to make Sasuke nervous about what was coming.

Nonetheless, it was not only the silence that could lead to uncomfortableness in that room, Renjiro’s looks were also terrifying. The man had half of his face replaced by cybernetic pieces, which made it ugly and inhuman. One of his eyes seemed replaced by a camera and a hair strand dyed red fell in front of his face. He wore punk clothes, unusual in business, and in his t-shirt you could see a Bengal tiger image that resembled a drawing. Besides that, Renjiro seemed to have other mechanical parts, including both arms, which was where Sasuke was staring at that very moment.

Moreover, Renjiro had a gun on him and no one would be insane enough to tell him to leave it outside.

“I’m afraid you already know why I’m here,” said Renjiro with a wry smile. “Since the old government no longer exists, we need to get the collaboration of your companies to Tora Sentai settled. New government, new rules.”

Before Sasuke could even say something, Renjiro took out a mini flash drive from the back of his head and threw it over Sasuke’s desk. That little plastic metal piece fell right into Sasuke’s lap, who caught it, calmly, and placed it on the table.  Okamoto opened a drawer and took out his Ópticus-5400 monocle, set it into his right ear leaving the crystal display in front of his eye, got the flash drive and inserted it into the disposal.

After he got the message from the video he had just watched in front of his eyes, he turned to Renjiro and said “You know this is as close to tyranny as it gets, right?”

“But you won’t want to go against the rules,” said Renjiro. “It wouldn’t be good for business”.

“It certainly wouldn’t,” answered Okamoto with a cold look “and I’m definitely not here to get in your way. Tell your big tiger that everything is just fine on my part”.

“It’s been good, doing business with you,” he finished, while laughing, and left through the door without saying a word.

The days that followed showed the results of the economic plan of the new government. With a higher than 50% tax increase, big companies were able to keep afloat, however, smaller ones went bankrupt and hunger became an issue.

The atmosphere started to get tense in Japan, but there was nothing the Japanese could do against Tora Sentai, so the new government established itself anyway with a very small privileged abusive group living on the cost of many other people.

Once the dust had settled, and the world couldn’t do anything but feel sorry for Japan, Sasuke called his secretary Matsuko for a strategic alignment plan meeting.

Matsuko entered Okamoto’s room that day without saying a word. She came in wearing short skirts and a black blazer, her fluttering long dark hair moving as she walked. She placed an ashtray on the table, lit a cigarette, dragged it eagerly and let out smoke that filled the entire room.

“You know I don’t like when people smoke around here,” said Sasuke without taking his eyes off his personal device, “You should be more mindful of my rules”.

“That is exactly why I smoke Sasuke,” she said with a smile on her face “to annoy you,” she kept smiling while Sasuke’s eyes met hers.

“Something tipped me into believing our conversation today is going to be a hard one,” she kept smoking and flicking the ashes into the ashtray. “The last time you called me for a conversation was when we put your father’s business back on track right after inheriting it”.

“In that you are right. I would like to get some things sorted for the following years.”

Okamoto opened a drawer and pressed a button. The room lights turned off and a series of led and neon lights turned on. The air conditioner also stopped working along with all the electronic devices in the room.

“Yeah,” continued Mastuko, still dragging that cigarette, now with a shining red tip. “If you turned all the cameras off, it means this is serious”.

“Yes, and let us talk soon before the infrastructure team arrives to check on what happened. I’ll be brief Matsuko: I want to sell my father’s companies.”

“Sell!,” yelled Matsuko, coughing out the smoke from her lungs. “What ‘s this now?”

“Not everything, Matsuko. What I mean is I intend to keep one business only. I want to sell the supermarket chain, the department shops, the tailor shops, the automobile repair shops, and everything else. I only intend to keep the farms.”

“But the farms are your father’s less profitable ones”.

“About that, it’s not a problem. What I want to do is get the money we’ll make from the sales and invest it all on the farms. I don’t want to keep on this single minded idea of exploring water and soil only. I want to invest in research and technology, so I can produce food.”

“Interesting, but why that now?”

“Are you aware of what’s going on globally? Ever since the Great Inversion, the business model has barely changed. Look at Japan. A gang of mercenaries arrived and took it all from us. They will drain every small business there is left from us. We need to be strong and prepared to live here. We need to be as strong as Paxton Skylines, Faraday Commission Corporations, and they all have technology right by their side. We just make money. It’s time we change that.”

“Well, ” continued Matsuko as she smoked, “At your service, as always. I can study how to do it. We’ll need scientists and stuff.”

“Will the money from the sales cover our costs?”

“More than cover, Sasuke. Maybe a third of what we make will be enough. It’s not going to be easy… climbing up the stairs you want to climb, but we cannot complain about money.”

“So that is how we’ll do it. Make the plans. Arrange the sale. I only have one dangerous mission left for you though. The other two thirds may not be necessary for the farms. This money will need to be deposited in an anonymous cybercoin account so I can use it outside Japan.  And most importantly, Tora Sentai cannot know about what we are doing.”

As soon as Okamoto’s last words came out of his mouth, someone knocked on the door and asked if everything was alright in there. Sasuke quickly turned the system back on. Matsuko put out her cigarette in the ashtray and stood up. When the door opened, the infrastructure team was already in the room, which looked just fine, as though nothing had happened.

“Okamoto Sir,” said one of the guys, the green haired one “We’ve received an alert”.

“Everything is alright in here,” nodded Matsuko, leaving the room “It must have come from another place”.

“Since you’re here, take this ashtray with you,” blurted Okamoto.

Matsuko followed her boss orders, sold the companies and kept the hydroponic farms that now would undergo a long renovation process with the creation of a Research and Development Department.

As they had previously settled, a third of the money was invested in the farms and the rest was sent to an anonymous account where it would stay for a while.

As the main building where Okamoto had many of his offices became useless, Matsuko and Sasuke agreed it would be better to destroy the building and use it for the construction of a huge hydroponic farm, tower-shaped like.

“From now on, I’ll leave things to you,” commented Sasuke standing next to Matsuko, while they watched the building that made his father’s fortune implode. “I’ll move on with the farm plans. Make this Research and Department come up with something useful. We need food technology. Beyond any other nation or corporation.”

“What about you Sasuke?,” asked Mastuko, in a serious tone. “What are you up to?”

“My dad complained about a stomach pain once, and my mother advised him to see a doctor. Now I know that, apart from not eating well, he was stressed out with all the companies he had to run. I’m afraid I’m following the same steps here. I need to go away from Japan for a while. I can’t stand here and watch what’s happening to our people. Ever since Tora Sentai arrived people have been suffering. I just need a break, cause unlike my father, I won’t let death slowly drag me to my grave.”

Sasuke waited for the tower to implode.

“When the new one is ready, I want a beautiful office just like the old one. I want it to be in the middle of the farms and to have lots of plants in it. Oh, and I liked the new piercings. Didn’t it hurt?”

“Pain serves a meaning when we do these things”.

After that day, Matsuko went years without seeing her friend and, following up on their agreement, she started the process of modernizing the hydroponic farms.

The first great project that the new Research and Development Department executed was the building of a vertical tower in the place of Okamoto’s last one, where water would be dropped from the top and run through the whole extension until the base. Over the course of its trajectory, many live fish tanks were kept so they could eat their food and dispose of their waste in order to feed the plants, strategically set along the tower corridors.

The new tower structure still had a few problems, such as solar light penetration and a great amount of fish storage. After all, it was hard to feed the whole tower with nutrients, it required thousands of fish tanks spread all over it. However, with its first project in course, the corporation was back to being profitable.

The great tower was a landmark in the center of Tokyo. It was also one of the biggest food points of sales market and, despite high task rates applied by the new government, food sales were both profitable and accessible to the ones with less resources.

When Mastuko sent the annual report informing how businesses were doing, she got a pretty straightforward answer: Matsuko, we need to talk. Meet me in Brazil, São Paulo. Bairro da Liberdade. I’ll talk to you when you get here.

Matsuko, who was usually a calm person, felt anxiety run through her veins. What could have happened for Okamoto to be so far away from home and invite her to go there? It must have been something serious.

Matsuko planned to go to Brazil immediately, and after a long journey, she met Okamoto in a bar while eating some sort of rice covered in a black sauce she had never seen before.

“This is what they call feijão?”

They both laughed and hugged each other.

“I thought I’d run into your wife here as well,” she commented while sitting down “Is she here?”

“She is now. Have you heard about the tragedy?”

“No, you no longer fill me in on what’s going on”.

“Chill Mat, that’s why I called you here. But before, would you like to eat something? Brazilian food is great. They also have something called cachaça. But you remember my wedding right? I’m not drinking anything any time soon,” they laughed.

Matsuko ordered her food. While they were talking Matsuko put off asking what she wanted to ask while Okamoto put off giving her the answer she expected to get. They talked about the news, and Matsuko let him know about the hydroponic farms.

“How are things at the farm? This fish they have been developing, is it really worth it?”

“C.A.R.P, yeah. It’s an artificial fish. With it, we will be able to access organic material from the farm without having to explore the real fish and it will also fix the scalability problem. Another project that’s also about to end is the structured carbon fibers. Due to their transparency, we can have them installed in the constructions to make sure sunlight comes into their deeper parts. With both these techs we won’t need plants only on the outside area but inside all office rooms. Growth prospects are great if both technologies are concluded.”

“That’s good Mat. Great”.

“Besides, I need a name, Sasuke. A name for your corporation.”

“Okamoto HydroCorp, simple yet representative.”

Sasuke called the waiter and they ordered some coffee. Matsuko kept moving in her chair.

“Ok, tell me once and for all, what was the tragedy?”

“Kioko and I tried having a child as soon as we arrived here. But unfortunately Kioko couldn’t go through with the pregnancy and we lost the baby.”

“Oh, I am sorry to hear that,” sighed Matsuko.

“That ‘s okay, Mat. We are getting over it. Kioko is quite bummed and that’s why I brought her sister here as well, to keep her company. Despite its seriousness, this isn’t the matter I’d like to discuss with you. Have you noticed how strong I am?”

“Yeah, I did,” she replied with a funny face. “I didn’t think it was important though”.

Matsuko took out a case from her purse. She grabbed a cigarette and put it in her mouth.

“Hey,” interrupted Sasuke, “Did you know you can’t smoke inside the places?”

“Oh really?” she replied with the cigarette falling from her mouth, took it back and put it inside her purse. “That’s why you like it here then. It’s more like you. And what’s the reason for this new strong look?”

“I’m doing crossfit. You should try.”

“I know what crossfit is Sasuke. It’s older than my grandma. I will never do such a thing.”

“Well then, I’m not only doing crossfit. I’m doing it just to help me get stronger. I’m actually training for the military.”

“Military?” Matsuko shrieked without realizing the noise she’d made, and covered her mouth. “What’s this nonsense about?

“This was my plan all along. I’ve just left it out so you could focus on the farms. But since our relationship is based on trust, I needed to tell you now.”

“I’m grateful for the respect,” she said with a blank face. “But tell me your plans now.”

“A brief summary is that I’ve been using the money we’re making there and investing it in weapons.”

“Weapons? How? The man that’s ending hunger over there wants to kill people over here?”

“Calm down, Matsuko. What I’m doing is trying to protect lives. War is coming anyways and weapons are always going to be used to oppress others. Look at what happened in Japan. If we had the tech resources, the story might have turned out differently. This Tora Sentai has 165 feet tall robots. Who could have won this war with last century weapons?”

Matsuko stood there silently, biting her nails.

“So, I came to Brazil to negotiate with Cronista. Do you know him?”

“Artificial intelligence?”

“Yes, he owns the area around here. When you arrived you might have seen a red light near the airport. That is where his server base is.”

“Yes, I saw it. Terrible place. You’ve been there?”

“Once. It’s terrible indeed, but robots live there. There are no people living in the barrier. Most of the time, I talk to his spokesman.”

“I can’t really wrap my head around him. He’s an AI but the way he acts is rather strange. We closed the deal where I’d come in with the money and he would come with the resources to build the guns. Mat, I’m talking rifles with optical triggering, projectiles heated with super rotation, capable of drilling tanks and airplanes.

“And what do you intend to do with all these weapons?”

“Protection. I already have a protection agreement closed for the next two years. SteelForce Association in Uganda is worried about their production of minerals and technology security. I’ll take an army there myself and stay there for 2 years.

“I also have two other agreements ready, one with Magyar Raiders, at their new base, Slovenia. I’ve settled for protection and a troop payment exchange with one of their leaders. Most of my squad is made of nomads. But in this case, I’ll only go with the soldiers to Slovenia in emergency cases. The same goes for Faraday Commission, which in spite of not having settled with their leader due to religion issues, we closed a deal in exchange for technology protection.”

“It’s going to last four years total, from next week on. When it all ends, I’ll go back to Tokyo.”

“That’s if you’re alive, right?”

“Don’t worry. We have lots of armors, exoskeletons, tanks and airplanes. We could say we are the biggest independent squad in the world. We call ourselves Dragon Samurai. And the most important thing of it all; I need food for my squad. Start preparing food for me to take wherever we are.”

Okamoto accomplished his missions masterfully, attesting to how powerful his squad was. Two years went by, Dragon Samurai created roots in Africa up until the end of the contract with SteelForce Association. During that time, as expected by SFA presidents, different attacks were executed against the base of the corporation and other strategic places in the world. Attacks that were easily fought by Okamoto and his soldiers.

Provided with more technology, including Warbringers, powerful mechs built by SFA, Dragon Samurai worked for two more years in the eastern europe and Indian Ocean, working on behalf of Faraday Commission and Magyar Raiders.

The date of Okamoto’s return was long awaited by his corporation, which had now won its recognition worldwide.  But when he went back to Japan, he surprised the whole country.

A war and cargo airplane fleet arrived flying over the Japanese coast, and when they landed, an army filled with soldiers carrying the most technological guns, war tanks and Warbringers set their foot on the land.

“Launch the attack!” yelled Okamoto, when he saw Tokyo’s buildings from afar, let’s take what is rightfully ours back.

Sasuke Okamoto was different. After four years of war his scars were spread all over his body, especially on his face, from his forehead ‘til his cheek across the eyes, which now had its iris green. He wore his hair up when in conflict, in a samurai bun, in a way few people had seen him.

The attack caught Tora Sentai by surprise, and just like they had taken over Tokyo a few years back, Okamoto now advanced towards a new government for the country.

“Take the streets,” yelled Okamoto through the radio, “and be careful. The five robot tigers can come out anytime. Warbringers, this is the job for you.”

The mechs started walking down the streets, focused on the tigers appearance, which was only a matter of time. While at it, soldiers and tanks walked down the streets ending the enemies that still defied Okamoto’s soldiers. It was when the first burst came, shaking up the ground with the impact. In the front line of the squad, falling from the skies, one of the giant metal tigers came out, challenging the enemy who lay ahead of him.

SFA Warbringers shot at that instant. A missile of rain and projectiles crossed the air and hit the metal tiger. When the smoke from the explosion faded away, the tiger was limping and one of his legs had been destroyed. So as he fell on the floor, a tank was able to hit him straight away, landing the shot on the bridge, making sure that tiger would no longer stand up.

Two other earthquakes emerged in the outskirts of Tokyo, but this time Okamoto soldiers were not able to see the enemies coming. When one of the tigers appeared in one of the corners, Warbringers fired. The explosion was as intense  as the previous one, but this time the tiger kept on moving at high speed towards the squad. Behind them, a second tiger appeared, catching them all by surprise. A single stomp was enough to smash a dozen Warbringers.

“Okamoto Sensei!” screamed one of the officials. “They are too strong.”

“Disperse soldiers!” replied Okamoto, “Let’s use our size in our favor”.

Okamoto positioned himself so he wasn’t vulnerable, and observed the situation. If the other two tigers appeared, his squad would be destroyed in a matter of seconds.

“We need airway backup here and… get our secret weapon ready.”

“And who is going to pilot it, Sensei?”

“I am”.

On the battlefield, Okamoto’s soldiers were looking for ways to dodge the tiger’s stomps when an airplane crossed the air and bombarded one of them, disabling the robot successfully.

“Three to go soldiers” yelled Okamoto once more. “I need a car to take me to the waterfront.”

Okamoto ordered his three lieutenants to take over the activities while he drove to the waterfront. The news coming from his communicator was bad. The remaining two tigers were still in action, and the squad needed to fight against three of them at the same time. When he got to the waterfront, in Tokyo’s bay, he gave the order for his weapon to present itself.

From inside the water, a great robot emerged, lifting water and making the waves move against the city’s structure. When it revealed itself entirely, it was a gigantic war machine built by SteelForce Association, in the shape of a salamander, with a draconic head, metallic clutches in the arms and a tail filled with spikes. This mech, when compared to the tigers, was much bigger and robust. As soon as he saw the opportunity, Okamoto climbed and went inside it, through the cockpit.

“Hello Sir Okamoto,” said the voice coming from the audio speakers that couldn’t be seen. “I am RX-463 and I will help you while you’re piloting this machine.”

“Are you Cronista, soldier?”

“Soldier is not the right term; I don’t have a body, so I guess I’m just a machine assistant. Are you ready?”

The robot began walking through the city, walking over cars, small buildings, everywhere, leaving destruction behind him. In a few seconds, it reached the place they had been all along, where the three tigers remained intact.

“Soldiers!” yelled Okamoto through the communicator “It’s time you take off. Get away from the conflict zone because things are about to get ugly!”

Okamoto and his God Zilla v2 arrived at the scene with style. He kicked one of the tigers and made it fly over Tokyo’s air, dragging itself over the cars and buildings. The remaining two jumped over the big robot and tried using their teeth to penetrate the airframe. With difficulty, Okamoto used one of the robot’s arms to throw it further away. The other tiger lost its balance and fell. Okamoto tried to stomp at it but it was fast enough to dodge him. Ergo, he used the robot’s tail, hitting the nail on the head, and knocking the tiger far away.

The first tiger that had received the first kick was back at the scene, jumping through the air, and in the right moment Okamoto punched him so the tiger came back to where it was, rolling over more buildings and constructions.

“Okamoto Sensei,” a voice came from the communicator, “there’s a new troop of Tora Sentai coming from the north. It is huge and they have tanks, our mechs are having a hard time repositioning, given the speed of the tigers. They will catch you from behind if you are not careful.”

“I suggest we use the cannon, ” said RX-463. “They are grouped and they will be rather efficient”.

“Soldiers!” ordered Okamoto through the communicator. “Get back from the region where the enemy’s new squad is. The impact is going to be big.”

Okamoto saw the squad getting closer, and with the help of  RX-463, took his next step, taking advantage of the fact that the other tigers were not there.

The big salamander’s mouth opened up and a giant Faraday cannon was projected out of it. The equipment charged blue energy and, a few seconds later, it fired.

The blue lightning that crossed over Tokyo’s boulevard exploded where it hit. Soldiers, tanks, remaining soil and land flew through the air. Within moments, the new squad was neutralized.

Feeling the partial smell of victory, Okamoto drew his attention back to the three tigers, who awaited him, side by side. It seemed as though the real battle was about to start, since they’d had time to prepare.

Instead of attacking, the three tigers got close to one another. Many pieces started to disengage, only to reattach themselves, forming what looked like one single tiger, as big as God Zilla v2.

“Okamoto Sasuke!” yelled a voice from the communicator as the image of Renjiro Inada revealed itself in his cockpit. He was piloting the Super Tiger that now stared at him. “It will be a pleasure to deliver your head to our sensei, the Great Tiger.”

“Inada Renjiro!” he answered in the same tone “And I will be the one responsible for cracking that entire body of yours.”

The fight among the two giants began with punches and kicks, other buildings were destroyed as the giants missed each other. The Great Tiger was faster and able to clutch and bite more frequently.

“Okamoto,” said RX-463. “Our structure is falling apart. We need to react”.

“I’m trying.”

While they talked, they were fingernailed next to the cockpit and Okamoto felt something tremble close to him.

“RX-463,” said Okamoto, now coughing and panting. “Is the cannon ready?”

“No, Sir. Apparently our enemy hit us exactly where the cannon was, which made it inoperable. I’m afraid it’s time for our very last weapon.”

“That’s gonna cost a lot for Tokyo; worse than what we’ve done so far.”

“That’s why I’m here, sir. I’ll help you calculate a direction that will hit a big boulevard. I have an idea, judging from the map.”

The two robots kept fighting and now Okamoto had a much more complex mission. Not only he needed to keep himself straight, but also move the conflict to a strategic place so his last weapon could be let loose.

Pretending to be attacked, Okamoto chose to move God Zilla v2 through the streets of Tokyo, while being attacked by fingernails and metal teeth.

“Okamoto,” insisted Renjiro Inada. You weren’t expecting this right? I wished I had given you the opportunity to see the five of them together, but three are enough to end you.

“Don’t worry Renjiro,” replied Okamoto, sending a sequence of orders to his soldiers. “We’ll fight bravely like our fathers taught us… that is, if yours taught you so.”

“Two steps to the left,” said RX-463. “And a little distraction will do the work.”

Answering to  his commands, a sequence of firings from a Warbringer group hit the head of the Great Tiger. Afterwards, a second bombarding crossed the skies and fired another sequence of giant bombs.

Without too much damage, the robot tiger came back to itself and seemed ready for combat.

“Your weapons are useless against me Okamoto! Ha, ha! Lets end this once and for all.”

What Renjiro Inada hadn’t noticed was that, while distracted with the impact, God Zilla v2 held his hand with a huge Katana, huge as a building.

“Gold Dragon Sword!” shouted Okamoto, raising the sword high, “Cut my enemies in half”.

The sword shined in a blue and yellow tone and lightning was fired from it towards the city’s power grid. So he held the sword higher and stronger, and made the cut.

Renjiro tried to hit Okamoto before he could do what he set out to. But the sword came in a vertical cut and, at the same time, the wave hit the tiger’s head, one of its arms took off one of God Zilla v2 legs.

The cut ripped the tiger in half and followed its course hitting the boulevard RX-463 had calculated to cause the least damage. The heat wave followed on ripping the soil and drilling the land so deeply that the buildings around it shook. At last, the shock wave disappeared into the sky of Japan, leaving its trace in the shape of a star.

On the other side, the now one-legged God Zilla v2 fell on the floor. Okamoto felt the impact run through his body so strongly that he could feel exactly where his breakfast was. Something fell over the cockpit, causing extreme pain on his left leg.

“Sir Okamoto,” said RX-463. “My mission here has ended. I need to go back to the network before my algorithms get stuck in here.”

“Good work, RX whatever-number. It was good working with you.”

“It’s RX-463, sir. And before I go, your soldiers are on their way to rescue you. One last thing, Matsuko wants to talk to you.”

“Put her through before you leave.”

“Sasuke! Sasuke!” the voice screamed. “Is it really you inside this thing?”

“This thing no longer exists Matsuko,” he replied. “But I’m good, I mean, alive. I’ll probably need some doctors. My legs are stuck in the ironware”.

“Your soldiers are on their way to you. I told you you would put yourself in a mess with this war story.”

“What about the government? What do we still need to do to remove Tora Sentai from power?”

“Sensei,” said a voice from the communicator. “This is settled. We have invaded the base and they have already surrendered. Japan looks forward to having a new government from now on.”

“Congratulations soldiers, now take me out of here, will you?”

While he waited, in silence, he could hear Matsuko smile.

“What now, Okamoto Sensei?” she asked while laughing “What are you going to do in case you have a limp for the rest of your life?”

“With or without it, I know what I’m doing anyways; I’ll be a farmer. And make me a sake already.”

Okamoto turned off the communicators and rested alone with his thoughts. While he listened to the soldiers cutting through the ironware from outside, Sasuke leaned his neck on what was left of God Zilla v2 and relaxed.

Sitting there, on his own, he smiled. It wasn’t just a rare smile. It was more of a laugh. Maybe he was delirious from the pain, but one thing he knew for sure: that was one of those adventures that would never be forgotten.”
